Belts are designed to transmit power when the engine shaft and the drive shaft are far away from each other. Belts are very flexible. Their elasticity allows them to absorb shocks and vibrations, which helps silence the transmission and increase its lifespan.

A line of products that offers you more :

Trapezoidal V-belts

  • Great tensile strength due to their manufacturing method
  • good creep strength due to the properties of the belt fibres (e.g. low rigidity)
  • Good power/footprint ratio
  • Reduced tension, good lateral stability
  • More subject to centrifugal force
  • Reasonable lifespan (good fatigue and wear resistance)
  • Different types of belts are available:
    • Super HC series (3V, 5V and 8V: Regular belts and 3Vx, 5Vx and 8Vx: Ventilated belts)
    • Gates Hi-Power II series (A, B, C, D and E: Regular V-Belts and Ax, Bx, Cx, Dx and Ex: Ventilated V-Belts)
    • Light duty series (2L, 3, 4L, & 5L: Light duty V-Belt)
    • Double V-Belt — cross section

Ventilated belts

  • Combine the advantages of flat and trapezoidal belts
  • Compared to flat belts, the contact surface is increased, thus reducing the radial tension
  • Compared to trapezoidal belts, they are more flexible and better ventilated
  • Types of belts available:
    • Gates Hi-Power II series (A, B, C, D and E: Regular V-Belts and Ax, Bx, Cx, Dx and Ex: Ventilated V-Belts)

Timing belts

  • For a constant speed ratio, they have the same characteristics as the gears
  • Speeds up to 80 m/s and power up to 200 kW
  • Types of belts available:
    • Not standard (timing belts and metric timing belts)
